Venice, Italy

Travel

Tip: If you want to visit Venice, see the sights, take a leisurely stroll around, or perhaps capture a photo without 5,000 other people in the background, DO NOT go during Carnevale. (The biggest festival of the year.)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen more people together in one place at a time than I did last weekend at Carnevale. The crowds were huge, the lines were long, prices were extremely heightened, and I was terrified of being pick-pocketed.

BUT, Venice was beautiful!

You really can’t complain when you’re in a place like that. Despite the influx of tourists (myself included), I was able to do and see some really amazing things, but I would love to go back for a more fulfilling and less claustrophobic tour of the city when the crowds have died down.
