This past weekend, my sister and I took what might have been the quickest trip to California ever. We spent 3 days in the Los Angeles area and packed in more sights than I ever thought would be possible.
Our aunt and uncle were kind enough to host us in their home and drive us around while we were there. It was the first time either of us had visited California, so we were both super excited. We managed to hit downtown L.A., Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Venice Beach, and Santa Monica all in the short time we were there. In-n-Out Burger was a definite highlight for me along with an uber expensive Ferris wheel ride on the beach.
We were also able to hike up near the Hollywood sign, something on both mine and Hartley’s California to-do list. Because it was so much colder than we expected it to be, we had to buy warmer clothes before our hike. We ended up sporting flannels from K-Mart because that turned out to be the only available thing in our price range. We then had to wear said flannels and hiking clothes around Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive because we didn’t have time to change before going to the train station. Needless to say, we did not fit right in. However, we thoroughly enjoyed prancing around the fanciest part of town in our discount plaid like the Beverly Hillbillies.
I truly hope we can go back some day! Preferably with more time to explore and different clothes to explore in.
