Spring Break in Texas

Travel

I recently spent 9 days in Texas for spring break with a friend and her family. This was my first time ever visiting the Lone Star State, and let me tell you, everything really is bigger! The houses, the churches, the grocery stores, and especially the rodeo. I’ve never seen anything like it.

The majority of our trip took place in and around Houston, but we also traveled to the coastal town of Matagorda for a few days at the beach. It was a remote, tiny area right off the Colorado River. If it wasn’t for our daily trips to Stanley’s General Store, (the main gas station/post office/restaurant in town) we hardly would’ve seen any people. It clearly wasn’t a popular spring break destination, but it sure was cute.

All in all, I enjoyed my time in Texas and can’t wait to go back. Next on the list is Waco, solely for the purposing of visiting Magnolia Market and scouting out Chip and Joanna.
